Michigan wins the Sugar Bowl

The Michigan Wolverines are the champions of the 2012 Sugar Bowl after a 23-20 OT win over Virginia Tech on Tuesday night in New Orleans.

Sophomore PK Brendan Gibbons kicked his 3rd FG of the night, a 37 yarder, and the Maize & Blue celebration was on across the Wolverine Nation.

The win was the 11th of the season for the Wolverines, the 5th time in Michigan Football history they have won 11+ games in a season.

Michigan is now 1-1 in Sugar Bowls.
Michigan lost, 9-7, to the auburn Tigers, in the 1984 Sugar Bowl Game.

The Sugar Bowl win was also the 895th win in the 132 year history of Michigan Football, the most wins of any college football team, in any NCAA division.
